Jennifer in Paris

Here’s a marvellous image of the protagonist of Jennifer Wilde, the 20-year-old French artist Jennifer Chevalier, as she sashays along a boulevard in Paris – unaware of how events will take her life in a totally new direction.

Kudos for Stephen for this fresh and lively piece of art.

FanSciCon pictures

Rob, Stephen and I only met for the first time at the FanSciCon convention in UCD yesterday, and here’s the photographic evidence.

Rob Maura and Stephen at UCD

There was a good turnout of Irish comic book creators at the event, and from 11am – 1pm there were two panels: Breaking into comics and Collaboration between Writers and Artists.

Rob was on the first panel with Michael Carroll (2000AD), Ian Whelan (Sancho) and Barry Keegan (League of Volunteers).

After a frantic scramble negotiating Dublin’s bewildering road system Stephen arrived for the second panel with Paddy Brown (Cattle Raid of Cooley) from Belfast, and joined me, Hilary Lawler (Super Hilbo) and Alan Nolan (Sancho).

The weather was fantastic, and inside the main hall, in front of a giant screen blaring out Anime clips, Cosplayers duelled with foam rubber ‘light sabers’.

Here’s a second picture of the Jennifer Wilde team, looking a bit more silly.
